The bachelor thesis named SINFUL is created by Nicole Juhlke and deals with the social problem that people's emotions and feelings are sometimes tempted by norms and values. People consider their true emotions and evaluate whether they are socially acceptable and appropriate. As a result, emotional states are suppressed, feelings repressed and mental illnesses are compulsively developed.
The experimental collection embodies and brings to the fore a multitude of emotions that society perceives as “negative”. Closely related to the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth.
The attempt is made by means of design elements such as shapes, colors and structures to depict emotions and stimulate thought. The different print developments underpin the problem and symbolize psychoses, emotional protective armor and the judgmental society.
